I just purchased this car and there is a button missing on the automatic shift plate where the park reverse neutral etc is have no manual and no idea what this button is for my first thought was an overdrive button but that is located on the actual shifter could this be some sort of traction control button please help my brain is stumped Thanks

This is right on the baseplate itself correct? If it is, then that is part of the shift interlock system. Normally that is covered up by a filler plug, so you are not looking a hole in the plate. Its function is to override the shifter interlock, that prevents the shifter from moving from PARK to the other gears. Example, when the battery dies or there is no power going to the shiftlock solenoid - you need to pop the plug out, and jam a screwdriver to allow you to shift out of PARK.
