i did something similar, but i removed the stock airbox and ran it through the stock hole in the chassie, had to cut it bigger but its kinda like how all the hondas have it, behind the bumper, i also cut a hole in the bumper to get more air flow, works pretty well

I see a lot of intake filters and pipes for sale on e-Bay and have wondered if they would be any benefit for my cars performance.

I did a lot of research on pre-made namebrand intakes and this article is what settled me on WeaponR:

I originally had their "Dragon" sri but it whistled in idle which was pretty annoying. I then upgraded to their "Secret" intake. Interesting inner pipe design if nothing else (scroll halfway down the page to start reading about the pipe/filter design):

Besides it not whistling any more, I like the idea of the larger diameter pipe and large filter. In n/a applications it makes more sense to me.

Looks like the same item sold on e-Bay.

default_sad Shhhhh! My wallet can hear you! lol Yeah, I know - it was my first modification, and before i joined the forum. However I am a little reluctant to purchase a no-brand filter. Anybody have any experience with the aftermarket cone filter from Autozone?

Did you remove the bumper to get the filter on or did you cut the hole big enough for the filter too?

If you did have to remove the bumper, do you have to remove the bumper every time you want to clean/swap the filter?

i just use the autozone filters cause they are cheaper sometimes look ebay they have some decent ones i like the half circle ones, ya i removed my bumper and all the stock air duct piping, made the hole in the chassie where the existing hole was just big enough to fit the tube,

yes unfortuntly you do have to remove the bumper when you want to swap or clean the filter, one you dont have to do taht that often, two i dont recomnd this but i just zipped tied mine on, its easier to tear off and make modifactions at the track, for normal road use bolt it back in
