As 99 pointed out earlier in this thread, your mirror problem requires a very simple adjustment. The mirror pivots from its base AND from the windshield. Just pivot the mirror away from the visor at the place where the bar attaches to the windshield. Some of these Corollas left the factory with the weird adjustment, but many others didn't.
