What a rip-off!

I have similar stats and pay ~600 per year on 03 corolla with Allstate in south US.

That hurts! default_cool

We are about to move within NJ so I plan to do a search for a differrent zip code later and see how if differs.

I'll post the final result.

Damn, I though california insurance is expensive, but compare to Canada and New Jersey it is nothing.

Anyhow, we have a law that let you go to traffic school to wipe out one ticket every 18 months (you have to pay more for that, our government is smart) and the insurance will not know any ticket record, so most people are clean record.

The biggest problem here is not really fatal accident, but car thieves. If you buy a car that is popular among thieves (integra) then you better be prepared for big rate.

Well we are moving to the suburbs and will save about $600 on our insurance (likely to be around $2100).

The only thing that cheers me up is remembering reading about a Dad who bought his 17 year old son a Ford Escort RS which cost 21000 pounds new ($40000) and the only insurance company that would insure him wanted......................

21000 pounds to insure him!!

The RS was a fast car but worse still it was in great demand by car thieves.

So things could be worse I suppose.

Wow!! I guess it is true that insureance rates are crazy high in the UK. Sounds like rates overseas in Korea and Japan - sky high there.

Mr. Ed

I pay $797.26 a year for full coverage through State Farm. It looks like that's $66.44 per month. 2004 Corolla, no accidents or tickets, 58 year old bugger. I think it's about $650 annually for my wifes' 2000 LeSabre Limited (full coverage).

no accidents/tickets. I pay $56 liability a month now for my 01 but I used to pay $45 full coverage in a smaller town. I wish I could move to a smaller town again. default_laugh

[edit-]I forgot to say to change to farmers if you can because state farm screwed me. they shouldve easily won my accident case since it was obviously provable what happened but they dropped it and allowed the person to get away with hitting me simply because she got an attorney and they didnt want the hassle. so I got screwed out of $500 deductible and was not reimbursed for it.

Insurance: Wawanesa (California)

2005 Corolla S Auto

100/300,000 coverage, 500 deductable w/ uninsured motorist, towing and medical payments.

12 month policy: $793 (USD) add $5 for installment fee oer month. (x9 months).

no points on record, Good driver discount. No Alarm discount.

*** this carrier is by far the least expensive, must have 1 point or less to get great rates!***

everythings crazy in the UK, I liked it much better in the benny hill days. theyre paying over $7 per gallon for gas over there right now. default_blink

in michigan, i'm paying $461 for 6 months with State Farm for my 98 Corolla. that's because I go over 7500 miles with their rating.

Wow, insurance sure seems cheap in California!

I'm in San Diego with a 2005 Corolla S manual:

- 15k/30k (Bodily injury/Property coverage: both Liability and Uninsured Motorist coverage) - the minimums basically

- $100 comprehensive deductible (yes I'm paranoid, I should probably raise this)

- $1,000 collision deductible

= $760 USD per year ($63 per month) with Geico

I've had a 1995 Honda Accord, a 2002 VW Beetle, and my 2005 Corolla is the cheapest car to insure of all of them.

$175 a month Canadian.

27 years old, clean record.

I drive a lot to work, that's why it's higher.

Nashville, TN

2000 Corolla VE

Full Coverage

$500 comprehensive

$1000 collision

I am with GEICO and paying $480 for six months

consider this:

I am 30

Only had driver's license for 10 months in US

Bikeman982

I pay about $2000 per year for three cars-two Corollas and the one Tercel. I have Allstate with numerous discounts, but have two kids, both under 25 (one male).
