9Th Generation Struts

By Snow Tire August 11, 2014

Can someone please tell me what the torque specification is for the lower two bolts on the struts of my 2005 corolla.

113 ft-lbf

NOTICE: When installing bolt, stop the bolt from rotating and torque the nut.

Thank you. Someone said it was 203 foot pounds. I knew that was too much.

Okay I replaced the front struts with KYB loaded from RockAuto.

Now I can't figure out how to remove the rear ones.

Does anyone know of a link or a video showing 9th generation rear strut replacement?

Or are they actually shocks?

They are rear struts. There's a lateral bolt on the bottom, and a couple nuts up in the trunk.

OK. Thanks Dom.

I'm looking for rear KYB struts.... Rock auto doesn't have them and I also checked auto parts warehouse. I want the loaded assembly with the spring. I'm having trouble finding KYB. I might have to put Monroe on the back. If anyone finds a source before I settle for Monroe I would greatly appreciate it. I'd rather have a matched set of four.

Try Amazon. Look up part # on kyb site first

I couldn't find them anywhere. I went with monroe , they seem alot stiffer.

i just did'nt want to take the time to compress the springs and reuse them.
