2014 Auto Climate Control Question

By BobB, November 30, 2013 in Toyota Corolla (2009 until 2018-19 “TNGA”)

Whenever I turn on the auto climate control, the air conditioner lamp lights, even if it is 20 degrees F outside. Is this normal? Is the air conditioner really engaging?

The way it works (at least with my 2013) is that when the auto is selected the system will take over and adjust fan speed to reach the desired temp. all one needs to do is set the temp. when that desired temp is achieved then it will reduce fan speed. if the temp is set high then even with the ac on it will blow said temp.
