I want quiet, not a performance sound , don't need it at 55 yrs of age.

It's slightly louder than stock with a deeper tone... Do you only need the axle-back muffler section?

I got a Magnaflow cat back for $80 bucks, but had to order through Advanced Auto's website, using the discount's on the top of the page! That way I got a cat too. But if you do go that way, get the part number directly from Magnaflow's site. If you don't Advance's CS people will use their Magnaflow site, that's not the same!

Does a walker's stainless steelmuffler. sound durable ?

Magnaflow cat-back exhaust would improve performance slightly without any negative effect on fuel efficiency. Catalytic converters usually wear out inside before the casing rusts out.

Walker does now call it Quiet Flow SS with full stainless steel contruction and limited lifetime warranty. Sounds pretty dang good... The old Rock Auto link states: "All-aluminized steel and new CF coating deliver exceptional durability."

ok, i just had it done locally for $480 canadian walker mid pipe, resonator (?) and muffler.

I hope the thing lasts more than 2 years up here in the cold north. Its getting expensive.
