Which Iridium Sparkplug Brand For Corolla 2003 ?

by bhp02, February 9, 2009

guys, I have the corolla, anyways, its got about 170,000 KMs

almost time for the spark plugs to be changed. Here in Canada,

what is the OEM for the plugs ??

I'm pretty sure for the 1ZZ-FE, the OEM plugs could be a DENSO SK16R11 or a NGK IFR5T11. I know that the original plugs were DENSO in my Corolla (8th gen) and NGK in the Matrix - but the Matrix is also the 2ZZ-GE powered one.

Pretty much any of the Iridium replacement plugs would work fine. I currently have NGK Iridium IX plugs in both - for the 1ZZ-FE application (be identical to the yours) I'm running the NGK BKR5EIX-11. It is a fine wire electrode, a little thinner than OEM. Works great, except I have to change these plugs out at 60K miles (~96K KM) instead of 120K miles (193K KM), as these are not designed to be as long lasting as the OEM variants.

Topic List: Go to Toyota Corolla, Chevy Prizm (1998-2008)
