Where Did This Come From?

Today I found a CD in my 1997 (I don't use the CD player).

I am the only one who ever drives my car.

My wife, daughter and son (they are the only ones who live with me - besides the dog and cat!) say it is not theirs.

Why would someone put a CD into my car's CD player when it is off??

Maybe it was there when I bought the car and I never noticed??

I have been using the FM radio and never tried the CD player.

It is a mystery to me.

What is the CD of? Have you tried playing it?

Did you take it in for service, and maybe the mechanic was listening to some tune while he worked on your car?

Good guess but I do my own servicing.

Nearest I can tell, it was in the CD player when I bought the car.

You never let anyone else drive it since you bought it? Maybe someone left it there a long time ago and you are just now finding it. It does seem a little funny though, since you say you never have used the cd player and there was a cd in it. Is it a good cd? or does it play?

I recently bought the car and no one else drove it.

It is a good CD and I actually like the music on it.

I guess I will keep it and use it.

All my other cars have cassette players in them (I have over 300 tapes).

I mostly listen to the local radio station - they play the top artists.

The CD is just a copy and not an original, so it probably is not worth much.

so i used to have a JVC radio/cd player.

i got myself a better unit, sold the old one to my dad, and installed it in his car.

his trans died, we pulled the radio and junked the car.

they move, my dad gives the radio back to me, i give it to my GF

she installs it in her escort

turns it on

eric clapton CD starts playing.

it hadnt been in a car for over a year, had just sat on a shelf with this cd in it that my dad doesnt even remember he owns. so i sent it down to him anyways, im not a big clapton fan.

It's pretty obvious that whomever owned the car before you left their CD in the deck. Unless it has a name and address written on it, I can't imagine any reason why you cannot consider yourself the (now) lawful owner of this CD -- particularly since you don't have any way to return it to it's original owner.

BTW, please satisfy our cat-like curiosity and tell us what the music on the CD is? Can you identify the artists or songs by name? At least give us the musical genre (rock, pop, country, classical, etc.).

Bitter: I'm curious as to why you're not an Eric Clapton fan? He's an awsome guitarist, although I can sing most of his songs better than he does! BTW, I once tried to write a send-up of his song "Wonderful Tonight." I called it, "Miserable Tonight," but I cannot find the file with the lyrics. The first verse went something like this:

It's late in the evening

She makes me pull out my hair,

She's throwing a perfect fit

I can't tell what's eating her.

And then she asks me,

Are you picking a fight?

And I say "No, but you're sure Miserable Tonight."

...and it goes on from there. You get the idea.

yea, i never liked them. i suppose they'd fall under 'alternative rock'. a few of their songs have been in commercials.

I don't usually listen to any CD's - just the local station.

That gives me the community updates.
