1998-2002 Speedometer Cluster Plugs

By rfoster458, December 8, 2007

I'm trying to figure out how many wire clusters are supposed to be connected to the back of my speedometer cluster. It's on a 2001 3-speed Auto Corolla. My cluster is showing 5 places for plugs, but I only have 4 harnesses that plug in. Anyone know how many theirs has? I'm trying to figure out a bigger problem, but I think this could be part of it. Please let me know and if anyone has any pictures of the back of their clusters it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

I have an actual picture somewhere around here - for now - this is one taken from the FSM for later 8th gen Corollas.

Only four connectors are used, but there are five physical ports on the back of the cluster. Not sure what the use is for the fifth port - probaby have to probe it and buzz it out the old fashioned way to find out what it is for. On my 2002 - there were four physical connectors running to the cluster.

Awesome, thanks a lot!

Maybe the fifth port is for some other options??
