Starter Problem

Hey everyone, i have an 88 toyota corolla FX. I've had starter problems lately. Sometimes u turn the key and it clicks a bunch of times and then finally starts after trying alot. ANd about three times i heard the grinding sound. Is it the starter or the solenoid or worn out contact points? how can i find out? i dont wanna spend unnecessary money.

The easiest thing to check is the terminals on your battery. If they are old and corroded they might be resisting flow when the starter is demanding it.

Pop them off, give them a scrub with a wire brush, put some OxyGuard on them, try her out.

I am a strong believer in trying the easiest thing first default_smile
