Electric Impact Wrench, Valvoline Maxlife Synthetic

By buurin, December 27, 2006

I just picked up a "crappy tire" electric impact wrench on deep discount (C$50 down from $150). Do I need impact sockets for this thing? I need 21mm to take off wheels, and maybe 19mm if I am to do my own struts (It can do 240lb-ft). What other sizes I may need to service my two pigs? (see sig default_biggrin)

On the same occasion I also grabbed a jug of Valvoline MaxLife Synthetic, also at discount at C$19.79, and purported to be a crappy tire exclusive like M1 EP. Is this good stuff? I know there's regular MaxLife and to pass on those.

get impact sockets, you can get a set called a flip set that has the 4 lug nut sizes needed rolled into 2 sockets which 'flip'. one pair is metric and one is standard. it includes a small extension.

Hey, my trolley jack kit comes with two such flip sockets and an adapter piece that lets me use the trolley jack handle as a breaker bar, only it isn't impact.

Sockets to work on Toyotas are 8,10,12,14,17,19,21,22 for o2 sensors,24 and 30 all mm

21 is for factory lug nuts and 19 for the smaller aftermkt lugs.
