1998 Corolla Washer Fluid Resevoir

Guest pirouette

I discovered that my fluid tank is leaking where a black hose is attached to the tank underneath. Is this fixed with a silicone sealant or do I have to replace the whole tank? Am wondering if the washer fluid will eat the silicone. Does anyone know how to replace this?

Thanks for the help in advance.

Silicone will seal it temporarily - also depends on how much that part will flex over time. Did the same thing to a Camry at one time - ended up replacing the reservoir with one picked up at the dealership. Regardless - washer fluid will not eat the silicone - its just made of water, alchohol, coloring, and some extra stuff, none of which should pose any problems for you.
