we have a new matrix xr. when we attempt to accelerate there seems to be a delay before that happens. talking to toyota service people, they explained that the newer toyota engine has electrical/computerized acceleration that is actualy slower than was previously the case for corolla. same thing with the new camrey engines. a little disappointing i would say. anyone else noticed this with their attempts to accelerate?

Rickel, i have a 05 corolla (has same throttle contorl, iirc) and I notice no lag between pedal and RPM's. I would highly recommend test driving a few other toyota "new engine" cars and see if you notice it in other cars. Unless your other two cars are a Porcshe and a Corvette, there shouldn't be a noticeable delay.
I have started to notice that my corolla has a lil lag when I press the gas pedal a lil, like a lil mini jerk. This didnt happen before.
