Cornering Light Replacement 1997 Corolla

I apologize if this is a silly question. I don't have a manual and don't know that much about cars.

I received a replacement cornering light (entire assembly due to rock breaking it). I have it removed but cannot figure out how to remove the power adapter from the bulb fitting on the old bulb. It has to be simple but I don't want to ruin the power adapter trying to force it.

Can anyone help? The fitting is much tighter than I had expected.

Thanks-

Nevermind... I wound up replacing the old bulb with the new bulb on the existing bulb socket.
