On my 2000 Corolla LE, only the right half of the tachometer and the left half of the spedometer are lit up, while the fuel and temp gauge are dark. I checked the fuse, and it is OK. A while back, I used to be able to tap the dashboard and the problem areas would re-light temporarily. Is replacing the bulbs a difficult job?
Might be able to get at it from under the dash or pulling the gauge cluster out the front. The steering wheel gets in the way - but if you get your hand in there, you should be able to get them out. There are some detailed instruction in some past posts - IIRC, someone brought up a good idea to swap them all out - bulbs are cheap - be a major pain to have to redo this in a few months when the othe rbulbs decide to burn up.
