Hello. I need to install headlights (brights and maybe the normal ones too) in my 96 corolla to pass MVI. I also need to install one brakelight. I would like to do this myself, but have not done it before. If anyone could give me tips and/or instructions it would be greatly appreciated.

Also, if anyone could suggest the type of light I should use (and a reason why I should use it), it would be appreciated.

Did you need to replace the entire assembly or is it just the bulb?

Most of the removal/installation is straight forward. 1996 Corolla uses a 9005 bulb for the brights (high beam) and 9006 for the normal ones (low beam). The tail lamps generally use a 1157 bulb or 194 wedge bulb - depending on which bulb is out. Head lamps generally need a quarter turn twist of the bulb housing to remove and reintall the bulbs. Tail lamps may need some disassembly to get at the bulbs. Best bet - grab a service manual from an auto parts store - not as good as the Toyota factory manual, but for $10

Good Luck.
