Interesting Presentation

By TRCar54, March 12, 2007

Very interesting presentation. One thing I got to conflict with the facts of this video is its claim that the US has the highest standard of living. Alot of people tell me this and its about as true as the streets of New York being paved in gold.

In terms of earning power, both Luxembourg and Norway have higher GDP purchasing power parity per capita (how much citizens earn on average each year). The US is rated at about $41,400. Norway is rated at $42,300 and Luxembourg at a whopping $69,800 per year.

In terms of the Human Development Index, the US is ranked 8th (rated at .948), behind Japan, Canada, Sweden, Ireland, Australia, Iceland, and Norway. Norway is rated at an astonishing .965!
