Slight Hesitation

Guest dlichterman

Hey everyone- I have a 1.8l A/T 98 corolla. Great little car to get to school! The only thing im wondering about is the delay from moving the shifter to "D" and the time when if 'feels' engaged. Yesterday I had backed up, and stopped completely, then put it into drive and it seemed to take longer than usually cause i hit the gas too soon and it felt kinda jerky. Im not sure about the transmission fluid but it probably needs to be changed. Could this help with the hesitation?

Thanks,

Daniel

Could help. Could also be low fluid level.

Change can't hurt.

to check it are we supposed to check it once the engine is warm and running or what

Procedure should be in owner's manual. I have an 03 so might be different.

Normally cars should be warm. Then shift through all gears, put in park and check with engine running. Be sure you are on a level surface.

Any dealer should be able to tell you procedure since it's to be done at each oil change.
