Differential Fill Plug On 2001 Corolla

by Richard Broadland November 19, 2006

I have a 2001 Corolla and I'm about to change the transmission fluid.

I heard about there might be a seperate place to fill the differential

as well. Anybody has the idea if this is needed and where to find this

fill plug.

It is an auto transmission, model A245E

If it is the same as most transmissions - it is on the firewall side and difficult to get at.

It is just a bolt where you fill the differential until the fluid reaches the height of the opening.

Fortunantely, the A245E 4-speed tranny has only one plug - not separate tranaxle fill plug and differential plug like in the 3-speeds and other transmission.
