Some people will never have to worry about being overweight.

Their metabolism and probably genetics keeps them from gaining weight.

I would be a lot heavier if I didn't play sports, work a physical job and also do a lot of bicycling.

Weight loss is important to those that need to get their weight down.

Too much weight can cause premature health problems.

Check with your doctor before beginning any diet or exercise program.

If I have a rough patch, say a few days of heavy eating, I can easily lose whatever weight that is gained within a week or so.... I can lose like 5 pounds in 3 days; however methinks that most (90%) of all weight gained and lost is purely fluid.

I had a couple of friends like 99contour at university. One was a scrawny little fellow, he would weigh about 140-145lbs (don't know how tall he was). He would put away pretty much anything he wanted, but he was frequently hungry. Another friend was about 6' 4", 220lbs; again he would put away pretty much whatever he wanted. However, I saw a photo of his dad when he was my friends age, he was of a healthy weight but now was reasonably obese. His metabolism slowed right down as he aged.

Moral of the story? Younglings enjoy your metabolism; it'll go as you age...

It's true - metabolism slows down as you get older and it is harder to keep the weight off.
