maybe this is normal...bit more tranny sounds than my Camry and Corolla...is this normal AWD sound??

Yup, sometimes I get a little gear whine, noise - especially when the fluid hasn't warmed up / circulated.
As long as the noise goes away or lessens as you drive - you are good to go.
Might not be a bad idea to change out the oil in the center diff and rear diff, if they haven't already been done. Did mine at around 30K miles, oil was surprisingly nasty looking.
