I have a 2010 Corolla LE with about 60k miles. Whenever the road is wet or snow on the ground and I hit a bump, the check engine light comes on and the VSC OFF dummy light blinks.
I read the ODB2 code and it was P0328 - Knock sensor over voltage.
I'm thinking it is just a bad sensor. If my engine was knocking, I would expect it to knock all the time - not just when the road is wet and I hit a bump.
Have you experienced anything like this?
Where is the knock sensor on a 2010 Corolla LE?
That is the first time I've heard of that happening. I'd double check the wiring running to the knock sensor - possible that it is shorted somewhere and the wet weather combined with an impact is causing it to short to ground.
If wiring is good - then I'd suspect the sensor.
That's a good point. I'm having a bear of a time finding a diagram or photo showing where the knock sensor is located. Do you know where it is?
It's on the front of cylinder block, behind intake manifold. It has two wires; one white, one black.
Yes, that's your alternator's positive lead connector... Knock sensor is typically mounted just under the engine's head in the front center of cylinder block, behind intake manifold. It's well visible here; the small black part held by one bolt.
