Hi,

I have a 2001 Corolla. I got P0301 Cycl1 Mis-fire... just want to understand if it is Due to Bad Wire .. I have pictures....

Just don't want to go to a shop and get ripped off....

I have a couple of pictures I can send/upload....

Thx

Siva

Remember - your 2001 Corolla doesn't have any spark plug wires, uses coil on plug igniters. First, pull the plugs to make sure they are not excessively worn out or fouled. If they look OK - then swap igniters between cylinders (ie, take the #1 cylinder, swap it with another). Button it back up and see if the code comes back. If it does, see if it is the same code. If it is a P0301 - then likely, your problem is with that cylinder (fuel, fire, compression, power to igniter, wiring harness, etc.). If the code is different - ex, you swapped with #3 cylinder and the code is not P0303 - then the problem is likely your igniter.

Hi,

Thank you So much for the trouble shooting tip...

It is the wire going to the Engine block....

May I send a couple of pictures....

Thanks again for replying.

Siva
