Maintenance For 1998 Corolla Just Hitting 100,000 Miles

by reneerose, February 15, 2012

I was going to take mine to dealer. Had minor maintenance a year ago but some light strange sound is coming from under the hood. Not sure if I should follow the manual exactly because I have not been doing that regular and it took so long to hit 100,000 miles. Tips on most important things to check? Should I do a major service? I am the original owner. Thanks in advance.

It's not much to the regular maintenance on this dependable guy.

Just the usual.

-Plugs, maybe cables, fluid maintenance: Brake fluids, trans, oil, power steering, coolant. Air filter, brakes check all around. If you are still on the original brake pads, lube the slide pins. Check all ball joints. Check all rubber boots. Timing belt change or chain inspection. Check for oil leaks, valve cover replacement.

Not much else.
