I own Middle East Specification Corolla Model 2006 (1.3 XLI). I have a small but technical question. How to know what my car has, it's drive-by-wire or old throttle cable system? I can do it my self or i have to take it to mechanic? I tried to ask it to local toyota dealer's mechanic but he didn't know what the hell Drive-by-wire is? . Actually I want to install cruise control.

Can you post a picture of your throttle body? That would give a difinitive answer.

You have a cable throttle.

Agreed....throttle cable. They work just like a Bicycle brake cable.
