I don't see anything there for 7th generation Corollas (1993-1997).

We'll collect data and report results for these once at least 25 owners have signed up for a year.

To help get your year included:

Vehicle reliability research

We'll have the 2005 and 2006 in this month's results, though with asterisks for marginal sample size.

Many other years are two or three responses short of the bare minimum.

I'd like to include all years, without any asterisks, in the November results.

To help make this happen:

I signed up, i would have to agree with others that the site is a bear to navigate. Might i suggest that you have a garage section for the folks that are reporting on cars for you. You know like when you go to online parts store, it will save your car and data, the just make it like a log where one could login to the garage, then enter the data thats needed. Then of course you could have the other side for people that are just trying to get info. Your concept is very sound, I have looked at sites like that before. But when you want data from people and there is no real incentive for them to give the data, try to make it easier on them.

And also i would like to add one more thing for the folks that have older cars. With gas prices the way they are these days, i have seen lots of people dusting off the older cars and driving them. So the farther you can go back in the years , that will give YOUR site the advantage that the others dont do. Just food for thought. If you go to a used car lot, or see a old car in the paper, it would be nice to have someplace to go to get the type of info that you are offering.

Its a good site, and i will continue to post data when asked. Of course my car has been modified somewhat, so not really sure how good the data will be. default_smile

Dont you just have to love 'Rolla people' default_biggrin

I've made some changes to the site navigation, hope they help. More are coming, including a more conventional log in system.

The "garage" you ask for already exists to some extent, but could be further enhanced.

The lastest results did include the 2005 and 2006 Corolla. But, probably because the sample sizes are small, these results seem off, with an overly low repair rate for the 2005 and an unexpectedly high repair rate for the 2006.

With more participants, we could provide more precise results and cover more years.

TrueDelta Vehicle Reliability Survey results

Next set of results in November. Additional participants remain needed for all years.

Vehicle reliability research

It's been three months, so the Vehicle Reliability Survey results for the S40 and V50 have been updated again.

Repair rates, in terms of successful repair trips per 100 vehicles per year:

2003: 19, much better than average, but very small sample size

2005: 34, better than average, adequate sample size

2006: 62, about average, marginal sample size

2007: 31, better than average, very small sample size

2009: 58, about average, small sample size

More participants needed to provide precise results and include more model years.

TrueDelta Vehicle Reliability Survey results

The latest Car Reliability Survey results were recently posted. The reported number of repair trips per 100 cars per year for the Toyota Corolla:

1999: 96, better than average

2001: 44, better than average

2003: 28, better than average

2005: 54, average but close to "better than average"

2006: 33, better than average

2007: 27, better than average

2009: 31, better than average

Except for the 2005 and 2009, the sample sizes are small or even very small, so these results are asterisked and visible only to participants on the site itself.

A big thanks to everyone who has been helping. We'll have further updates in May, August, and November. With more participants, we could provide more precise information and cover all model years from 1995 on.

We now have a separate results page for each model that includes the results for competitors. The one for the Toyota Corolla:

Toyota Corolla reliability comparisons

We have updated results for the Corolla to include owner experiences through March 2009. In terms of successful repair trips per 100 cars per year:

2009: 31, better than average

2007: 26, better than average, small sample size

2006: 36, better than average

2005: 61, about average, but results for other years suggest actual repair frequency is lower

2003: 45--for this year and the two below, better than average, small sample size

2001: 45

1999: 79

A big thanks to everyone who has been helping. We'll have further updates in August and November. With more participants, we could provide more precise information and cover all model years from 1995 on.

Because existing sources of auto reliability information left much to be desired, in late 2005 I started conducting my own reliability research at TrueDelta.com. TrueDelta reports absolute stats like "trips to the shop" that make the differences between cars much clearer. Results are updated four times a year, so any significant changes in a model's reliability become apparent quickly.

Thanks to the help of many forums, there are nearly 23,000 vehicles signed up so far, including 226 Corollas. But more are needed. So I'm grateful to Dave Z. for giving me permission to post here.

Participants simply report repairs the month after they occur on a one-page survey. When there are no repairs, they simply report an approximate odometer reading four times a year, at the end of each quarter.

To encourage participation, panel members will receive full access to the results for free.

As soon as the car is fixed, I'll be updating my profile on your site.

Car's going into the dealer today because the trunk is not closing properly and it won't open from time to time.

It's a 2010 with less than 8,000 miles. Yay Toyota for only one problem in over a year.
