that bit of road, soo much fun! anyone else within reach of it should go and drive it. sadly the east most descending hairpin is only reachable by a detour as the stretch of road before it is closed. however the rest is open and very very fun. the new bridge should actually be done by spring so if some illinois members want to get together there for some bbq and then go for a ride on it or hike around i'd be up for it. i bet i could get some celica people to go as well. i plan on heading back out that way this fall and winter to see the seasons some more, but not in my car. my gf's newer escort should be road ready by then...and its about time she drives some of these road trips!

lots of up and down twisting turns, cant see it on the map but it winds through a couple valleys and has turns which ascend and descend the hills, besides that the scenery is great.

Sounds like many of the roads in Northern California, especially around Lake Berryessa.
