I was told recently that using rubbing alcohol will remove even the most nasty and stubborn tree sap from your car's finish. But, will it harm the wax and/or the paint finish or clear coat? I do not want to make it worse. Thanks for your input.

Hello Jackal - Alcohol will remove the wax, but should'nt hurt the clearcoat unless you leave alcohol on it for an extended period of time. But why not just use an automotive specific product? 3M makes an excellent adhesive remover for automotive finishes.
