Well, lets see some of the digital photos that we all have been saying are so good. Unlike some people that dread when someone shows them baby pictures..I love looking photos other people have taken and often encourage them to have some enlarged and framed. Back when I bought my camera last January, there wasnt much to take photos of, so I took a bunch at the butterfly sanctuary here. Here's the one I had made into a 24x36 with no sign of grain whatsoever. It may be a large file, but not as large as the original. I use it as my background on my desktop and it works great.

Excellent picture and looks like terrific quality.

Without digital I never would have been able to see it at all (unless you snail-mailed me a copy).

See how great the internet and digital work together!

Muzak: I love that color on a Corolla, it's very sharp. I also think you've got a cool looking set of alloy wheels there -- where did you get them? They seem to really look like they belong on the car, as opposed to other aftermarket wheels I've seen. Too bad about that huge, gaping hole in the dash where your old radio used to be!

I bought the wheels at the local Toyota dealer here and they come from the same company that supplies the stock Toyota rims, but about a 3rd the price. http://www.daialloys.com/

The spot above the radio is a fully enclosed shelf and it's perfect for napkins from Tim Hortons. It fits cd's great as well but I don't want to invite any projectiles if I was to get in an accident.

Thanks for the compliment on the rims by the way.

Ever used a scanner? I can scan documents, photos, and even negatives, save 'em, and e-mail 'em or post 'em. (Digital ending to an analog beginning.)

Larry- Maybe I exaggerated when I said I was avoiding digital like the plague. I use my camera phone a lot these days, and I do think of getting a digital camera from time to time. They just go obsolete so quickly, break easily, etc. But then, I still prefer the warmth of vinyl records over the cold reality of an MP3! default_ph34r

muzak- what a great image of the butterfly! The "feel" and composition remind me of a friend who has been experimenting with scanning flowers and such. The images end up looking much like they were done with a camera. Stark, black background with color popping in front.

Max: Thanks for the compliment. Every picture in my house is one I've taken and the 17 butterfly ones are just a small portion.

As for digital. I still have my Dual 721 Turntable right beside me and working fine. Shortly after buying my first cd I bought several stylus/cartridges/strobes for my turntable to keep it working well into the future.

I wonder if many people are aware that the vast majority of cds are not fully digital. I have very many but only about 10% at the most are DDD.

Max

muzak- That's right. Many CDs are ADD, AAD, etc. I'm in radio, and I'm amazed that with all the tech out there, many artists still record on analog equipment. Guess I'm not the only Luddite out there! Glad your turntable is proving to be a long-term pal. Mine is too, and luckily, I know exactly where to go for equipment to keep it running.

&!$#@!),,..Only won second place in photo contest at the Butterfly Conservatory this weekend. I knew I had a 1000-1 chance of winning, so sent in different photo. Wife thinks it's gross.

Thanks Max...Here's what it looked like in it's next stage and it must have been at least 10" wide.

If humans had the same trait as these guys...MacDonalds would go out of business. They don't eat during their entire life stage as a moth, but just live off their body.

Its next stage? Do you follow some of these subjects through their lives? Too cool!

Yeh, they only last a couple of weeks as adults, so not too hard to do.

Simply beautiful.

Allright.!.I made the big time with my "strange cloud" picture. It was in Tuesday's edition, so you may have to go back a day if you want to see it. Strange site and radio station to listen to about conspiracys.
