OK here we go. I have an 1984 toyota corolla 1.6L engine RWD. It has 280,000+ miles on it and it is still running strong!!! BUT I do want to find a new engine and rebuild it. I would like to take this opertunity to upgrade the power though. I spoke to a mechanic friend I know and he mentioned to me that the engine mounts for that engine are the same (he thought) for the Toyota 1/2 ton trucks made in 1984-89. I was wondering if this is true? I would like to get a 2.4 L engine and tranny and rebuild them both and put them into my corolla.. and get 160 hp vrummmmm vrummmmm. Anyone know if this is possible???
