OK here we go. I have an 1984 toyota corolla 1.6L engine RWD. It has 280,000+ miles on it and it is still running strong!!! BUT I do want to find a new engine and rebuild it. I would like to take this opertunity to upgrade the power though. I spoke to a mechanic friend I know and he mentioned to me that the engine mounts for that engine are the same (he thought) for the Toyota 1/2 ton trucks made in 1984-89. I was wondering if this is true? I would like to get a 2.4 L engine and tranny and rebuild them both and put them into my corolla.. and get 160 hp vrummmmm vrummmmm. default_biggrin Anyone know if this is possible???

the 22R and 24R motors were also found in the RWD Celicas also.

I'm not totally sure if the "A" series mounts are compatible with the "R" engines
