my passenger front wheel makes a weird metal clinging noise when the road is a little rough. it sounds like some metal part is about to fall off. i can't figure out what it is. i hear it while i drive. when i check i see nothing. what could the problem me. this is a 95 DX. thanks for the help.

Couple of possibilities:

- loose strut

- loose strut seat (top bearing)

- loose brake caliper

- loose drive axle "castle" nut (check if cotter pin is missing)

- bent or loose disc rotor dust shield

- slop in CV joint

- slop in tie rods

- slop in ball joint

- slop in steering linkage

- slop in anti-roll bar bushing

could be that the front pads are missing the required hardware that are supposed to be replaced or removed from the used pads and transferred to the new pads when pad replacement is performed

this is gonna sound stupid but maybe when u gor ur tires mounted the technician dropped a nut into it ... sounds really unlikely but a friend of mine did that at school in auto class

thanks for the replies. I'll try to explore.

I should mention that sometimes when I expect the sound like when going over a pot hole, there is no sound. neither is there any sound when I go over a speed bump (slow speed). it appears on the smallest bumps on the road - ones where you expect nothing to happen.
