Dragging the ground

Guest AceRx

I have a 99 corolla and I always hit the ground when i go over any dip or bump. I don't know what's wrong with it.

Bad struts? Wrong tires? Really, really crappy roads?

I'd start with checking the tire size-- if you bought the car used it's possible it doesn't have the proper tires on it. If you've had it since it was new and didn't change the tires, then it could be struts or something.

Have you put on a lot of weight recently? Carrying extra crap in the car, or loading it to the gills with fat passengers can lower the car somewhat... (I can tell the difference in my car's performance with passengers, but not really so much in the ground clearance, though...)

****uming you didn't put a body kit or lowering springs on it, then i'd definitely check the suspension. shouldn't have sagged to the point that you're scraping that much, but that's the only real thing i can think of.
