cor05 0 Report post Posted May 17, 2018 What does the FJ in the Toyota FJ Cruiser actually mean? The only thing I can think of is "Fake Jeep" but that might not be right...
Joetoy 0 Report post Posted May 23, 2018 FJ was the code for the old Toyota Land Cruiser in the 1960s which the FJ Cruiser looks like. I don't know if it was licensed or copied from Jeep but it was very similar in design, but bigger and with a Chevy-like six cylinder engine instead of a little four cylinder. Cosmos80 0 Report post Posted June 26, 2018 Saw this answered in a different forum: They said that F is for the Fuel type and the J is for Jeep.
Dave 17 Report post Posted June 27, 2018 Hmmm.. I'm not buying the fuel type argument, since gasoline in Japanese doesn’t start with the F sound.
