Diff Problems?

Recommended Posts

Would anyone be able to shed some light onto my problem?

I have an 02 1.4 t2 5speed manual corolla and I think my diff has failed spectacularly! Coming out a junction i went to move off and all i felt was a shunt then what felt like a flat tyre, the cars steering would fight against me and there was a bounce comming from the inside wheel! The car has 31000 miles on the clock and full s/h and being a Toyota this was one of my last worries! What I'm wondering is has this happened to anyone else and if so what were your next moves? I don't know if I will need a new gearbox too because of metal fragments?

Any help would be much appreciated!

Cheers, Craig.

Inside wheel? You mean the steering wheel? What happened then, and why do you think the differential failed? Does it still drive and steer? Any strange noises? is it hard to turn? Any oil leak?
