Hi And Lo Beam Fault

Recommended Posts

Guest Mikes

Hi, 2008 Corolla 1600 suffers from intermittently faulty headlights, in both dry and wet weather. Initially the lo beams would take about 3 to 30 seconds to come on after switchon, then the hi beams stopped working intermittently, now the lo beams have also started with the same problem. When lo beams fail, then hi beam fails as well. The lights will also come back on by themselves after 10 minutes of driving with only parks(not recommended) The park lights and indicators still work fine.

I have reseated both relays? Is there a connector near the sterring colum that might be causing a problem?

Look forward to any assistance.

Regards,

Mikes

Intermittent faults can be tough to pinpoint. This sounds almost like a grounding issue and/or switch problem.

Has there been any work on the car recently - new bulbs, replacement headlamp housings, electrical work, ECM reprogramming, etc.? Does your car use DRL or Daylight Running Lamps?
