95 Corolla Tvv Needed

Recommended Posts

Guest Zodiac7

I seem to have busted off the tabs on the thermal vacuum valve (TVV) that comes off of the EVAP while replacing my starter. I can't seem to locate a replacement at any of the auto parts stores though.

Anyone happen to know of one that I can buy? Used or new... preferably used, as $ is ever an issue.

Thanks much,

Kale

p.s. Yes, I'm an idiot and didn't put my location in the title. Sorry about that: Champaign, IL.

I have broken a couple of those myself.

I usually pick mine up at the local junkyard.

I do have an extra one (used), if you want it.

You can PM your address and I can send it to you.

Just pay for the shipping.

Do you have the 1.6L 4A-FE engine or the 1.8L7A-FE??

Awesome, thank you kindly. I'm still planning on giving a shout to the local salvage yard today in the hope that they have one (they were closed by the time I called yesterday), but if not I would much appreciate your offer. I have the 1.6L engine in car.

And as to breaking them off, thinking back, I can see how I will likely do it again some day. They are so close to the upper mounting bolt for the starter, and it's such a tight fit for a wrench that they just beg for a good wack.

Thanks again,

Kale

It does not take much to snap off the hose connections.

There is a special socket used to remove or install them.

I just use a very large adjustable wrench to carefully remove/install.
