In a post-Christmas blitz, I bought the stuff I need to replace my leaky valve cover gasket and timing chain tensioner but forgot to get some sealant for the joint between the timing chain cover and cylinder head.
Before I forgot, I was considering the Permatex "Ultra Black" ("Maximum Oil Resistance") and "Ultra Copper" ("Maximum Temperature"). The old sealant in there now looks kind of golden in color.
Anyone have any thoughts one way or the other?
Thanks!

its pretty similar to permatex ultragray, but ultrablack would work fine as well.

Thanks for a quick reply.
Are you saying the Toyota-specified FIPG is similar to the ultra gray? Seems like their stuff is black, not that the color necessarily means anything about the chemical composition.
