Well im still on pause with my swap, starting to wonder if it is really worth it with my car, pushin 250,000 miles, but runs "good". Not gonna be blowin any Mustangs off the road in it, but it gets me to where i need to be. I may just use it as "go getter car", and have a project car that i can spend time with and not be rushed.
So the question is could a B-series, D-series, or K-series possibly fit and be compatible in a 93 dx? Would there be alot of fabrication required? Or would i be better off just buying a honda civic or acura integra. And yeah im talkin about an engine around the year of my car, maybe a few years newer.
The 4AGE is still on my mind, been readin up a little bit. This was just on my mind, and wanted to see what yall thought.

You could fit nearly any engine in there, with enough fabrication. Indeed - there are a few 7th gen Corollas with V6 engines swapped in.
Given the availability of parts and accessories for the Honda/Acura platform. Makes much more sense (time and money) to buy a Honda or Acura platform for the swap. They already have wiring harnesses and the mounts available to get this swap moving. Less fabrication on your part, and more time and effort to make the swap go more smoothly. Plus side, if you already have an engine in mind - you can get a Honda or Acura fairly inexpensively, if it has a blown powertrain to begin with. Total up front costs will be considerably less in that case, compared to making the Honda motor "fit" the Corolla chassis. Plus the sheer amount of aftermarket support for the Honda/Acura platform just makes the Honda/Acura chassis a more fleshed out platform to start playing with.
Granted costs are relative to the area you live at and the availability of parts. Even shops that have done many swaps - jumping from one manufacturer's platform to take another manufacturer's engine always poses some unique challenges. Depends on how much time, money, and effort you want to put into this project car.

an interesting project.
it will definitely be one of a kind. BUT no one will really appreciate, other than you and a few people around you.
if you are going to spend the $$$$$ on something a swap like this, it will be easier, cheaper, faster to get another car.
like Fish says, if you want a honda engine, drop it into a honda body.
but if you have the time & the money, good luck!!
i am sure it will be a lot of fun to try. the owner of the bodyshop i go to is working on a conversion of this own. body is a neon coupe. he is dropping a v6 thunderbird engine in the rear... i REALLY want to see how he does it. rear engine, rear drive neon!?
as a car geek and a professional body man, i am sure he's got the skills to do it. but the time & $$...

Here's a similarly odd thought...
I know the prizm and corolla both run toyota powertrains.... however... the newer corolla S uses the 2.4 from the Camry, right?
so... wouldn't it be fitting that somebody swap a Quad 4 into a Prizm and make the chevy version of the Corolla S? I know, I know... quad 4 this, quad 4 that... still, just a thought.
